Art direction, collaboration and planning with partners and vendors, and execution of the design features and branding of TELUS’ recent real estate edifice in downtown Calgary, TELUS Sky. Partnering with the building architect, we worked to encapsulate the beauty of Alberta by theming each floor after a distinct region or landscape of the province.
To accomplish that, the team planned a photo shoot in Calgary armed with an extensively researched and lengthy list of flora, native to all regions represented in the building. The flora was collected and shot in-studio with the help of a hired photographer and prop assistant, while I provided on-set art direction for what I envisioned for the outcomes of each nature asset. Once edited to fit the aesthetic of the brand library, I was able to select and prepare the assets for large-scale print which were then applied to various walls and spaces within their corresponding region’s floor.
Additionally, the project included the selection and preparation of stock imagery used as privacy glass fritting for meeting rooms, as well as the lettering of the TELUS Values printed in 3D letter form in sitting areas. View a summary of the design plans here.
After building completion, TELUS Sky was officially launched and open to the public in 2022. The project continued with the design of all launch event materials and marketing collateral from printed and digital signage, social posts, printed news ads, email invites, name tags, and more.
