TELUS is constantly striving to deepen relationships with Indigenous communities across Canada as part of a public action plan and ongoing commitment to reconciliation. One of the meaningful ways TELUS is committed to progressing the path of reconciliation is by amplifying the voices and talents of Indigenous artists. This project included several examples of digitizing original works by Indigenous artists to be featured on TELUS fleet vehicles.
My role and task in this project is to digitize original artworks from its original format, whether painted by hand or drawn digitally, and adjust it to fit into the landscape of the TELUS brand – while maintaining the integrity and authenticity of the artwork. The files are then prepared for production and installation of the vehicle wraps. All artists have approved the final execution of their work before print. I do not take any credit for the original artwork featured.

_____
TELUS’ commitment to artistic integrity
We are committed to supporting the artistic practices of Indigenous Peoples, while being mindful of the historic role organizations have played in the misappropriation of Indigenous art and culture. We have an obligation and responsibility to ensure that TELUS’ use of Indigenous art in our digital and physical spaces is respectful of Indigenous artists. TELUS works with each artist to ensure that they retain full intellectual property and control over their work.
